GY 2 Chevrolet Reaches Goal of Reducing Carbon Emissions

When the first-generation Chevrolet Volt was debut in 2010, it marked the beginning of the automaker’s initiative to reduce its carbon emissions. Five years later, Chevrolet was able to reach its goal of decreasing the amount of carbon dioxide the company emits into the air by 8 million metric tons. Since 2010, 700 million electric miles have been logged amongst Chevrolet Volt drivers. Even one-tenth of the automaker’s energy consumption is renewable. Other initiatives Chevrolet did on its road to clean energy include supporting wind farms, reduce the idle time of a truck driver, empower students to become leaders of clean energy initiatives, utilize landfill gas to create power for a hospital, and preserve the environment. Gregg Young Chevrolet wants to congratulate Chevrolet for reaching its goal. Now it is time to achieve an even greater one.
